Amazing Animals

Hello when Harriet was guest starring last week I was off in Wales watching my friends play which he put on in his barn at midnight. It’s based on Welsh mythology and he is touring with to schools to teach kids about saving the environment. There is a camp dragon in it (yes, really!)– I had a thoroughly good time and learned from my nature loving friend about all these weirdo animals, sounded a bit mythological to me – see what you think….

There is a bird in the middle of the jungle that can mimic things even better than Alistair Magowan (alright maybe I need Rory Bremner) – not only can it mimic every other bird in the jungle, but also since the creep of technology it can reproduce the sound of a digital camera and chain saws and made stuff like that. I thought yeah right, Dan and they can sing supercallafragalisticexpiallidocioous – (spelt??) BUT – loooooook ooooooooook:

Weirdo Bird

Now listen to this. If you are a spider – you can go up down sideways, anyways – quite mobile. But did you know that spiders can fly? How sinister is that? They all secretly band together (alright in my head, it’s secretly – I know maybe spiders don’t have as complex emotional/deception skills as us) and start weaving an enormous web, weaving weaving, until there is a critical mass of of web versus spiders and the wind whisks them off into night, travelling over the Antarctic – heee heee heeee, until one day they land with glee on an unsuspecting commuter in London MWHAHAHHAHHAHHHAHHHA. It’s called Ballooning. What-ho, insy-winsy, going off for a balloon ride – toodle pip. They often get mistaken for aliens – the white wisps of web floating over the breeze – keep you heads up for the flying spiders. De de DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH:

eerie spiders.

The thought of those sinister spiders is keeping me awake at night!! I know that spiders do lots of good, eating nasty dirty flies etc, and I know it’s not their fault, but they look evil! Too many legs for my liking. And that Lyre bird is amazing!
