Con on
Remember a while back when I tired to explain the meaning of everything – phew, well I thought I’d get some professional help in by signing up to a 10 week philosophy course. Stretch my philosophical muscles. I know two quotes about philosophy or do I mean two philosophy quotes (stop stop let’s not get into semantics), to insert into conversations to try and be impressive.
A life unexamined is not worth living, Socrates
And
I would wish failure upon my best friend – Nietcher.
Alright, so I may be paraphrasing/have the philosopher wrong/and the last quote isn’t really impressive more, just a bit mean. My point is – since reading Sophie’s world aged 17 – I haven’t really got beyond the arm chair.
Brill – was really looking forward to it (my course) until my friend who did a philosophy MA, told me that it’s a front for a religious cult. Wowza – how wrong can a girl be?
In the final class they teach you:
“the notion that women should dress in long, flowing dresses, in order to remind men of the true nature of femininity”
Imagine if I had gone along, unsuspecting, but got somehow converted. Goodbye Laundry, hello home baking, doilies and baskets. Nightmare.
What the biggest scam you have ever fallen for?
I’m not going to tell you about when I sign up for a member’s club student scam with deals on jeans and nightclubs after winning a “cruise”.
