Pig-say.
Last week we had a flurry of pigness. First, Philippa’s pink milkshake bottle pig, then told us about the Pig of Happiness (how apt), then I remembered Apple Pigs, one of my fav children’s books.
see here http://www.flickr.com/photos/thelaundry/I’ve been inspired to talk about pigs. Usually I do loads of research, personal, anthropological, literature reviews, scientific studies, but this week I decided to just spout things I’ve heard about pigs, prove me wrong if you can.
Pigs have a great sense of smell, even better than sniffer pigs, it’s well known that they can hunt out truffles, but have been used as sniffer pigs on crime scenes.
George Clooney’s pet pig passed away last year, he described him as his best friend, poor George
.Pigs have incredible memories and have proved to be better than rats at finding their way through a maze to find their prize swill.
Even though people think pigs are dirty, they actually roll round in the mud to keep clean and disease free, well done pigs. Their snouts are incredibly sensitive, just like our fingers tips they use them to explore their environment and see what’s what.
