My name is…

After getting a rather touching blog comment from a certain Blarg who’s cat is (incidentally) called Laundry (see http://www.flickr.com/photos/blargblarg/2285206534/ for a pic) it got us Laundrettes thinking about other people and animals in our lives with funny names by coincidence. And then some who obviously just had mean old parents.

Like Richard Cliff, a friend of my brother’s who’s Mum was a die-hard Cliff fan. Oh how mean is that. Or slightly more eccentric, my Sister’s friend Caspian Prince (again, once swapped around) a character from the chronicles of Narnia (you know, Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe that they rummaged through only to be transported magically to the land of never ending winter and no Christmas- always got scared of the wolves in the BBC version of that- haunting stuff…)And, less intentionally but much funnier: Wriggley Pig, a class mate of Rache’s Mum. This guy inherited his Matriarchal name as his first name and it just happened to connect comically with his family’s surname. 

And, Jenny Taylor (say it in you head) a friend of Rachel’s from college. 

Ah ha ha and Ivor Ford, my friend Abi’s dad who treats us all by owning a Mondeo.

    I had a friend at uni studying medicine called Olivia Moore, so when she graduated she became Doctor Liv Moore, definitely a doctor you’d want to be treated by!

    When I worked for a big property developer a couple of years back, we often had to speak to a kitchen fitter called Christian Fanny.

    Poor chap.

    my grandads friend is called Arthur roll. still gets a abused for it.
